Only a few hours left of the epic battle between Bethe Correia and Rondy Rousey as they will fight for the ‘Bantamweight’ title. Rousey is still holds the title of this event and is the favorite for this fight, but Correia is not afraid of that. She is quite confident that she will beat Rousey and can give her the first taste of defeat of her professional career. Both the fighters met at the press conference on Thursday where Correia made it very clear that she wouldn’t be easy to beat.
Correia said that she would beat Rousey and definitely knock her down. She is confident that this time she put an end to the undefeated record of Rousey. She will fight the battle in front of her home crowds as the UFO 190 will be held in Rio de Janeiro. The Brazelian showed some extravagant courage on the face-off when she spoke those words in her native language on Rousey’s face.
There are some surprising things we should know about the 32-year-old Brazilian fighter, Correia.
Before taking the fighting as a profession, Correia was a banker who followed the family profession. She has completed her graduation on accounting.
She was discovered by MMA champion Patricio ‘Pitbull’ Freire. Correia joined gym to lose some weight where she met Patricio. She was pounding the punching bag when she got caught by him. He saw an immense potential in Correia and invited her to practice with him. Correia wasn’t sure about becoming a pro boxer at the beginning.
Correia thought that her husband wouldn’t enjoy her fighting in the ring. But to her surprise, he supported Correia to build her career; in fact, he is the biggest fan of her wife. Now Correia’s husband has become her coach!
Like Rousey, Correia has also unbeaten record 9-0 since her debut back in 2012. She is deadly with the punches, and has the ability to use jiu-jitsu to knock her opponent down.
Correia has already defeated one of Rousey’s friends- Jessamyn ‘The Gun’ Duke in 2014.
